About

In the Voice Over industry you can easily sink or swim depending on the choices you make and the actions you take each day.  But how can you expect to do it all correctly if you’re trying to do it all alone? It would be like trying to climb Mt. Everest without a sherpa?  Sure, you can try but most likely you will fail or die.  If career death and failure are not an option for you enter me, your VO Life Coach.

My name is Rider and I started in voice over 15 plus years ago in the bathroom of my bonus room.  Since then I have made the slow and tedious climb of leaving the six-figure corporate world behind and building a very successful business out of talking on a microphone.

Over the years I’ve worked in more than my fair share of home closets, basements, home-made booths, expensive whisper rooms and now my own custom studio.  I have done promos for every major network except ABC.  I have no idea what their problem is!  I have narrated hundreds of episodes of television and performed in literally thousands of TV and radio commercials as well as a ton of corporate narrations.

The point is that everything you are trying to do and accomplish I have done. I only wish I was smart enough back then to look for a coach that has actually been in the trenches of auditions, quickbooks, agents, room treatment, equipment choices, marketing, web design, coaching, bill collection, the union and all the other hats that you have to wear to be successful in this business.  I can help you make smarter decisions and avoid costly mistakes.  I can help explain how this industry really works and what it takes to succeed at multiple six figure levels.

There are plenty of “charlatans” out there pretending to be “experts,” when in fact they’ve never even been paid to work in the field they claim to be an expert in.  Quite frankly it pisses me off and one of the reasons I decided to set aside some time each week for VO Life Coaching.  I will be brutally honest with you and do all I can to be of service to you.

I get asked all the time for advice and I will spend plenty of time writing someone back only to get a response of “thanks,” which honestly disappoints me because I know they were never really that serious and I wasted my valuable time.  So I have decided I will only share my knowledge, life lessons and experience with those who really want to make a serious career out of VO and make the investment in themselves.

One thing I consistently preach is to ABI  or “Always be investing,” in yourself. By spending money on your future you are taking active very powerful steps to grow your business.

This is not your “typical” coaching where you read a script and then I tell you how you should have read it.  In fact we might not ever even read a word of copy.  In my personal experience a small fraction of success in voice over is about the actual performance. There are too many other intangibles that need to be in line before you even get to that point.

This is about you coming to the table with all the questions you might have about the industry and getting real honest answers.  It’s about evaluating where you are in your career path, where you want to go and then carefully crafting a plan of attack on how you can grow your business.

Literally EVERYONE has a mic and is a “voice over talent.” You need to do everything you can to separate yourself from this crowd and use every edge you can create or find.  Bring me onto your team to help you learn how.

Sessions are $165 an hour and paid via Zelle prior to the session.

I look forward to helping you rise to new levels of success in your journey!
